چکیده

OBJECTIVES The study’s objective was to implement a methodological approach, "Acute Physiological and Chronic Health Evaluation II (APACHE-II),” classify critically ill patients based on severity. METHODOLOGY A retrospective study design conducted at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital Lahore, Pakistan, from May 2019 2020. pilot of 6 months by reviewing the medical record 30 adult following convenient sampling after approval proposal ASRB/IRB hospital. both male female studied, while no paediatric or outside ICU studied. Each patient’s severity score obtained using parameters with help APACHE-II table. RESULTS Among patients, three out scored 25, 29 APACHE-II. These later passed away in ICU. This indicates that mortality rate increases an increase score. Thus, scoring system is very beneficial predicting patients' rate. CONCLUSION It concluded APACHE one best systems critical condition patients.

APACHE II scoring system is superior in the prediction of the outcome in critically ill patients with perforative peritonitis.

BACKGROUND There are several scoring systems used in the prediction of outcome in critically ill patients. This study was undertaken to evaluate APACHE II, SAPS I, Sepsis score, MOF, TISS-28 and MPI scoring systems in prediction of the outcome in patients with perforative peritonitis. PATIENTS AND METHODS The prospective study of 145 patients of both sexes with perforative peritonitis was per...

A Comparative study of APACHE II and SOFA Scoring Systems in Critically ill Patients with Sepsis

There are several well recognized scoring systems for evaluation and prognostication of critically ill patients. While the APACHE II (Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II) scoring system uses a point score based on physiologic parameters, age and previous health status, the SOFA (Sequential Organ Failure Assessment) scoring system takes into account the organ failure in critically ...

Is SAPS 3 better than APACHE II at predicting mortality in critically ill transplant patients?

OBJECTIVES This study compared the accuracy of the Simplified Acute Physiology Score 3 with that of Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II at predicting hospital mortality in patients from a transplant intensive care unit. METHOD A total of 501 patients were enrolled in the study (152 liver transplants, 271 kidney transplants, 54 lung transplants, 24 kidney-pancreas transplants) be...
